Jacopo Epis

My name is Jacopo, for many as "Jack". I was born in Venice, in the lagoon archipelago where I also currently live.

I have a degree in Society and Social Service Sciences, I continued my studies with a Master on Migratory Phenomena at the University of Venice. I worked as head of service at the Venetian Civic Museums, in a youth community and in other realities, as well as basketball coach in various realities of Veneto (many finals active with youth teams of all levels). Founder of the fair trade cooperative AquaAltra, I have always been sensitive to environmental and social issues.

Few things have marked my life like the Venice lagoon and the Dolomites. Strong is the passion for sport, from trail running, to cycling, to basketball, to road running. Always among the first in the category with times constantly under three hours in the marathon and under one hour and twenty in the half marathon. "Less is more" this is the motto for a path of research in life and for a sustainable way of traveling that respects the mountains, the seas and nature. With a friend, I embarked on an eco-sustainable and eco-friendly journey in 2010. 5200 km with a small wooden boat from London to Istanbul by river and by sea like the ancient Viking boats. Carrying many dreams and making new ones. Knowing that, after all:

"the essential is invisible to eyes".
